Yzerman was a great player and he has been captain since he was like 19. So he's a great leader. So what, so is mark Messier but heaven forbid we put him on the team: he is waaaaay pasat his prime. So is Yzerman if you watched him this year. The eye injury can't help either.

He is there mainly to help the young in the locker room. But if you look at the other 14 forwards, they should all be ahead of him performance wise. So how the hell is Yzerman going to even be in the room? He'll be on the press box. I woulda much preffered a Tanguay or Nash gain experience as the 15th forward. Or what the hell, let's play Bertuzzi who's in his prime!
