#18 Bob Davidson, LW
Bob Davidson is a nice pickup,he’s a steady, reliable defensive forward with an offensive upside who could skate as well as any speedster. Not many of those available for the checking line.Bob never shied away from physical play, amassing an impressive 388 career PIM's. He lead by example, but was as strong a presence in the dressing room as he was on the ice. Known as one of the top defensive forwards in the NHL, that moniker was put to the test against the best of the NHL to shadow with the likes of rocket richard.
Bob Davidson on occasion went by the nickname "Rugged Robert" by his teammates. He played his entire 12-year NHL career in a Toronto Maple Leafs' uniform, from 1934 to 1946. He played in the NHL from 1933-34 to 1945-46. He played on two Stanley Cup winning teams. His first was in 1941-42 and his second in the 1944-45 season in which he was Captain of the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Known as one of the top defensive forwards in the NHL. After his playing days were over he stayed on with the Leafs organisation in a number of different capacities his most notable was as Cheif Scout. Bob is considered by many to be one of the best hockey scouts of all time and was credited with building the Toronto Maple Leafs teams during the 1960's which dominated the NHL by winning the Stanley Cup four times (1961/62, 1962/63, 1962/54, 1966/67) within a six year period. Bob Davidson served as Captain of the Toronto Maple Leafs from 1943 to 1945.
In 491 career games, he tallied 94 goals and 160 assists and sits 39th overall on the TML all-time playoff points chart with 22.Davidson's accomplishments as a Leaf has him ranked #38 overall on the Leafs All-time greatest players list..
