Again I am not looking to discredit but to understand how. Richards said he missed it with his glove but it hit his shoulder.

How could his shoulder deflect it down. I think he hit it with his hand, legally, according to what is allowed, and it went in

In short I think Richards did not admit contact with his hand because he thought it was not allowed

No way a puck can go down off a shoulder as HE described it
