This photo was taken from the book Maurice Richard l'idole d'un peuple by Jean-Marie Pellerin. The legend says after having eliminated the Red Wings. It has to be 1951. The Habs finished 3rd with 65 points that year and eliminated the Wings who had finished first with 101 points. The Habs were beaten in the finals by the Leafs in 7 games on the famous Bill Barilko goal. The only other time the Habs eliminated the Red Wings in the 50's was 1956 in the final series but Elmer Lach was no longer with the team. So it can't be 1956.
I believe Ken Mosdell was the Rocket's good friend even though Mosdell didn't speak French.
