Ooh, I hated him when he was with the Blues...
I liked his analysis on the Ceeb, though. Seems like a smart guy. Probably a good addition to the team.
My only concern with an "old warrior" type like this would be that maybe his sense of what works and what doesn't is skewed or out of date. (I wondered this about Bobby Clarke towards the end of his GM days...) Does a guy like Mellanby have any appreciation for, say, the playing style of the Sedins? Or Edler, for that matter? Or will he be predisposed to players who share his own playing style, or the style that would have been most effective during his heyday?
