This is a tad off topic but kinda has to do with the time zone topic. I was watching the Chelsea vs Man United game yesterday. The announcers kept saying that it was 12:30am local time in Russia during the game. Can anyone explain to me why they played the game so late? Is that common practice in European soccer? Were they doing it for another time zones benefit? I am a spoiled north eastern american who feels the entire world should revolve around our timezone so these issues are foreign to me.
Sounds like they did that so it's be in primetime, or at least close, in the UK. I believe the UK is three hours behind Moscow.
