Plus, some of our cheap young talent isn't exactly cheap. Korpikoski makes over a mil, Prucha makes 1.6, Dawes is due for a raise. That might look cheap, but it adds up quickly.
I have a feeling Prucha will be moved during the summer. Wouldn't be surprised at all to see it happen. Don't want it to happen. Just think it will.
Redden is a tricky situation, not only in terms of dollars but also his tendency to disappear in the post season. And that's not based on just one season (as you did with Avery). The guys has had several bad post seasons. Makes you wonder if it's the environment in Ottawa or him. Definitely has been a pattern most of those mainstay guys in Ottawa.
Maybe a change of scenery helps him. Still, he'll want a boatload of cash.
Still think the Rangers will be better off going for a guy like Andreas Lilja and Orpik. Or even Commodore...or Norstrom for vetern leadership.
