do you need the last seven seasons explained? It wasn't the UFAs (I think we'd all be happy had Holik centered a checking line and not played on a top line checking top lines, as an example) was coaching. It was the wrong UFAs. It was not acquiring the right players. It was having to rely on too many injury-prone players. It was a lack of depth. It was a lack of unity. Just because you play youth doesn't mean the youth will ever grow up. You can play 8 guys for three seasons and only one of them may end up being a bona fide NHLer, and you would've just pissed away those three seasons, grooming one player and realizing 7 others sucked.

What I am saying is that there needs to be a mix of youth and vets. There needs to be a mix of grinders and skilled players. There needs to be a game plan and a coach and players who can and will execute that game plan.
