But I would sign Redden in a second, he is a much better fit for what Montreal is today than for what Ottawa has become, and would thrive on a second pairing with Hamrlik. Imagine if we do acquire an impact forward AND Redden this summer!
But again, that comes back to short term. Yes, it's POSSIBLE you lost a Halak 3-4 years from now, but wanting to push the team to the next level NOW is what gainey is talking about.
Waiting till July 1st creates a bidding war, and there's a GOOD chance he goes for more than 4 mill.
