It's all about how you see it i guess. Personally i like having a part time legitimate heavyweight enforcer while some other don't. This is pretty much the same thing with GMs as well. Some like having an enforcer on their roster (Burke , Clarke) while others don't (Gainey , Holland).

And no having an enforcer is not essential to win a cup but i brought the Ducks as an exemple because they are probably one of the best exemple of a team who did well with a lot of toughness in their lineup. I keep hearing the "having goons is useless in the playoffs" arguments but it was proven false by the Ducks of 2 years ago (granted they had a sick D with Nieds and Pronger but the goons were still taking a roster spot nonetheless).
