I guess Bob Gainey overrates him as well seeing as he said he doesn't want to change his D corps next year. Markov-Komi-Hamr-O'Byrne-Bouillon-Gorges.

Because we had both Breezer-Streit-Dandy last year, it was tough to make O'Byrne a regular on our roster. But before he broke his thumb, he was playing great and getting established along side Hamrlik.

This year, he'll have time to develop and he'll have NHL experience as well a bit. He will make a good pair with Hamr, there's no doubt. Look how Markov was beneficial to Komi, same thing is going to happen for O'Byrne here.
