are you blaming four years in college on LeClair's inability to bring it to the next level until a few full seasons in the NHL? If so, what's Bertuzzi's excuse since it took him to roughly the same age and Bert was an NHLer at the age of 20?

And I don't think you answered PLD's question...did it hurt York? The answer that he was lucky the Rangers didn't have a second line center and was put on a line with players who can score is not an answer. Perhaps the Rangers did not seek a center (and Smith was known to fill all holes) because of the promise York scored? And yeah, Fleury was such a great scorer. How many tallies did he get that season? And York's other linemate, Graves, who sadly did have a tragedy near the middle of the season, but wasn't able to muster-up 20 goals in a season once York was no longer his linemate. And, while he's not a top-line superstar and nobody thought he would be, he's a very serviceable forward that every team would be lucky to have.
