Wow, Detroit is looking scary good for next year.

Someone wrote that teams usually don't win back-to-back. But teams usually lose free agents whom they rented at the trading deadline (or just regular FAs who are overpaid by other teams because they looked good on a Cup-winning team).

In this case, Detroit won the Cup and then got an All Star wing as a free addition to the team.

They are now better, significantly better, than they were last year.

I guess Hossa must've been thinking, "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em".
