I get your point about prospect comparisons. It's hard not to do this when explaining yourself though as you need a frame of reference.
Last year at some point there was a thread about comparing prospects[upside] to current NHL'ers. Someone compared Komi to Scott Stevens and a poster replied that he thought Komisarek had more offensive upside. Here we are comparing an unproven rookie, though an excellent prospect to a guy who could be amongst the top 10 all time at his position, and it just wasn't enough. Yeah, sometimes comparisons are silly, depending on who's making them.
