Has it? I don't know anything about soccer, but it seems that the world's best soccer talent is dispersed over several leagues. I'm not saying that makes for a bad product, but it's not the same as gathering the world's top talent together in one league.

I don't understand the concept that fewer European players in the league will somehow make it better. It means that you will have to fill their roster spots with players that were formerly unable to get jobs in the NHL. Unless it's coupled with contraction, how do you end up with anything but a lower quality product?
