when will the decision be announced? and why does everyone seem so concerned with how much money the guy gets? 1 mil isn't a rediculous amount for a guy who could become a 1st/2nd line player. the Rangers payroll has been decimated so i don't think ponying up a few $ will hurt. if he doesn't pan out it's too bad...but to let him go somewhere else to save a few bucks is just silly imo.

i'm also not really worried about the ramifications of the labor negotiations as i really don't see there being a hard cap. and NY has the $ to pay any luxury tax that may be approved.
