PP Units

Ok, we've covered the even strength line combos to death, and considering some of the threads popping up, i'll give us one more where we can talk some REAL hockey.

The Rangers have lost some key special teams players and added some new ones.

What's your take on the Power Play and how it will be run?

Heres mine with a team featuring Prucha and one without. I believe if Prucha isnt traded he should get some top minutes, if not theres no use using him as a depth player, but thats a whole different thread.

w/Prucha

1st Unit

Zherdev - Gomez - Naslund (Z and Naz switch sides for one timers)
Roszival - Redden

2nd Unit

Prucha - Drury - Dubinsky
Staal - Mara

w/o Prucha

1st Unit

Naslund - Gomez - Zherdev
Roszival - Redden

2nd Unit

Drury - Dubinsky - Dawes (Drury could take faceoffs, and Dubi goes to the net)
Staal - Mara

Whatever the combos may be, I'll be thrilled to see a PP that is focus on the net and not the RW boards. I could definitely see Dawes getting some quality numbers here if he can get some chemistry with his unit, as Dubinsky because he should be used as a Graves type screening in front. I dont know who would go to the front of the net on that first unit, it could actually be Zherdev. Thats the problem with the units, theres no force in front, which is why we might see Dubi or even Sjostrom or Fritsche mixed in to garner attention to the crease.
