And Smith was beginning to re-vamp the roster with youth. Had been for about a year. But he was dismissed (deservedly so) for 3 seasons out of the playoffs and could not see it through.
Sather has had 4 seasons out, and 4 coaches. But he gets to see it through. I'm glad he has a plan for moving forward, but the FACT remains, its 3 seasons too late.
i seem to remember the flyers abusing zubov in the 94-95 playoffs. philly dumped the puck into his corner repeatedly. i think him being traded was an attempt to build a d that could contend with the huge forwards in philly.
