The Checkers have announced. their 12th and 13th players for the upcoming season.

Jared Nightingale, D will be returning for a second season with the team. The 25 year-old blueliner measures in at 6'3" and 205lbs and scored 3 goals and 11 assists in 65 games with the Checkers last season, adding 196 PIM and 18 fighting majors. He also was called up for 2 games with the WolfPack. The 3rd year pro had played a total of 26 AHL games with 4 different franchises, totaling 3 goals, 1 assist, and 46 PIM. He was also a member of the Idaho Steelheads' 2007 Kelly Cup Championship team, although he was injured for most of his rookie pro season. Before that, he roamed the bluelines at Michigan State, where he was a teammate of Corey Potter.

Julien Brouillette, D is a 2nd year pro who played for the now-defunct Columbia Inferno (ECHL) last season. The puck-moving defenseman scored 6 goals and added 11 assists and 55PIM.
