I think if he wants to make it as more than a fringe guy, he has to get tougher and more involded. That doesn't mean fighting, that means making sure he owns his net. There is no reason a guy who is 6'6 {and probably 6'7 or 6'8 when all is said and done} and who is as smart as he is shouldn't own the net. There is also no reason why he should be backing up at his own blueline all the time. He needs to stand people up. If he does nothing but lean on someone {like Jessiman} he'd have taken it up a notch. When someone who is 6'6 and in the 225 range leans on you, you're gonna feel it. But on so many nights, there just doesn't seem be a fire.

He can be so frustrating to watch because he can be so passive he looks like he doesn't care out there.

It's kind of magnified when you play on a team with Andrew Ladd and Ryan Getzlaf, too very hard working guys who magnify their skills because they never stop working.
