He sucked to start the season, but steadily improved as the season went on (as he did in basically every facet of his game). The biggest problem early was that he just wasn't accustomed to the more physical nature of draws here in NA. Early on he tried to win them clean, and if he didn't the opposing forward tied him up and the other team came away with the puck. He started to catch on around January and started using his size to his advantage. There were a handful of games in late Jan/early February where I tracked his faceoffs and there was only one where he was below 50% and a few where he was up in the 70% range.

That said, even by the end of the season he wasn't the Pack's top faceoff man by any stretch of the imagination -- that honor belonged to Mike Ouellette, who was generally the guy put out on the ice for all the important draws.
