It doesn't take much toughness to crosscheck a guy after a play or mouth off. It takes a lot more to go across the middle and take a hit to make a play. Nah, I think Marchand should battle hard in any drill and I hope he pisses everyone off.
I'm a happy coach if both players are pissed off at each other during the combat drills. Alarm bells would be going off in my head if a player is worried about being a gentlemanly team mate as they square off during one on one drills on the first day of rookie camp.
