No, it's way too soon to start penciling him into lineups. In no way is it too soon to start getting excited about the kid, especially when the supposed knocks on him - his defensive awareness, his physicality (?!), and his skating (?!?!) - appear to be nowhere near as bad as some of his critics made them out to be. Give him two years in juniors, and he may very well be ready to make the jump to the NHL, much like Staal did.
