If I recall correctly, Anaheim traded Tampa Bay pick #16 to Minnesota picks #19 and #42 on draft day.

It would not have been impossible to Montreal to make a similar package with pick #22 and something else to get pick #16 (or #17, #18, #19, #20) and draft Esposito before Pittsburgh's turn. So, IF Timmins REALLY wanted to get Esposito while he was available, a deal would have been made.

My point is : the reason Timmins did not draft Esposito is because other prospects (Pacioretty, etc...) were higher on his list.
