The more you improve your overall skating, the more backwards improves as well. It's actually a matter of timing as well as strength. You have to get a feel for it, it's not just balance or strength but a weird combination of things. But anyway, Dave Andreychuck supposedly couldn't skate backward and he had how many goals...
