During Ribeiro's first year in Dallas, late in theyear, he got benched, and Tippet said something about not needing 'soft offense'. That struck me because som eteams won cups with players that I thought would become useless, like Ray Whitney or Cory Stillman, who would kind of be in that category.

Ribeiro, to his credit changed his game and played stronger on the puck, and didn't hide on the permiter. Until last year, I thought Savard was a soft offense guy, a guy that I didn't really believe in. He's better than I thought he was but this talk surprises me, he's a perfect fit in Boston. They have a few wingers who need a guy like him, Ryder being one of them.

If Savard's price tag is too high at 5, is giving Ryder 4 a competent move ?
