"The Flyers have treated Alex well. It's difficult, I understand," the agent said. "When he got moved to Philly from Chicago, he was very motivated by the change of environment. He likes the players, the team, the organization, and just the way he was treated."
I wonder how motivated Zhamnov will be when he is on a team that won't get 60 points -- in a full season next year.
"If Zhamnov signs somewhere else, then we have some decisions to make," Clarke said. "We made a really good offer, but if someone else comes out and blows his socks off... and if he goes somewhere else, how do you find a centerman like Zhamnov?"
Trade Seidenberg, Sharp and a 1st round pick for another one. Regardless, Clarke, even if he feels its not in the budget, needs to pony up and just give him the extra mill Zhamnov wants per season because we call know he (much like the Leafs) will only trade more assets to a flouindering team who has a big ticket UFA, so why not just save the trouble and do what you have to do to get rid of Amonte and LeClair. Zhamnov will easily fit under the budget and cap then.
