Sucks to lose McIver, but realistically it appears he's around 9th or 10th on the Canucks defensive depth chart(Ohlund, Salo, Mitchell, Edler, Bieksa, Krajicek, Davison, Nycholat, Baumgartner) so it's unlikely he would've seen much NHL action anyway. And with Hordichuk now on the team, his "enforcing abilities" aren't required as much.
Anyway, good to see that Cowan likely won't be on the team. I was fearing that the Canucks' would cheap out and keep Cowan around just because he's on a one-way, but I guess they did send Chouinard to the AHL in a similar fashion.
