My whole point is that if Cowan was a complementary tough guy and had the luxury of fighting guys his own skill and size, he'd win a lot more fights. Just like Rypien will win a lot of fights.
So he might have won 1 out of 5 fights, instead of 1 out of 10?
I guess I just don't have much faith in him as a fighter, no matter what weight class his opponent is in. And if fighting wasn't his job, why was he around last season? He didn't kill penalties, and I don't remember him being all that physical on the ice. Granted he's got better hands than a lot of tough guys, but they aren't good enough to earn him a roster spot on their merits alone.
