that's what i found truly bizarre about the interview. even though he hints he would consider resigning it mentions it needs to be mutual. in the past (with saku) not only did gainey break his in season rule to not sign players but he went out of his way at tremblant to say his vets will be signed on a case by case basis based on their performance. i ask you, is that anyway to treat the captain?

the guy should be back if he wants, no question asked - as long as it's at a reasonable price. we are thin at center, the answer seems obvious.

it's weird, considering gainey's famous saku quote 'koivu est un champion, il mange comme un champion, il pratique comme un champion,' etc...
