Valiquette is a great backup that was a gift from nowhere, but not once in his Ranger career, let alone whole career, that he can start a string of games in a row. Vally signed for under 1 million to be the backup goalie to arguably the best goalie in the NHL without even looking into other teams. He is happy in New York. He is happy with his current situation, and he is overwhelmingly happy with his current goalie coach, who completely turned around his career. Is it possible that in the future he goes looking for a potential job with more games? Yes, but he hasn't proven he can start even 40 games in a season, let alone a whole year, and he is happy in his situation right now. Unless he got some incredible offer to start a significantly large number of games I don't see him leaving NY unless Sather initiates it.
