What's the point? Wait a year or two, sign him when the new CBA is up... he could cost us half the base salary with no signing or performance bonuses.

I don't know what numbers you are using. If Kastsitsyn is signed, it would be a 3 year 2 way deal at the rookie max of 1.2M. I would think he'll get a big signing bonus as well. If there's no NHL, he'll play in Hamilton at around 75k. So your saying you would rather leave him in Russia, where they could care less about his development as an all round player, instead of paying him 75K + signing bonus? Whats more important money or the development of our top prospect? (and the most skilled prospect the Habs have had in over 10 years imo)
