Skokan and Zabrosky where basically the Slovaks best forwards in their year group. Our Slovak scout, Jan something, did well and got the best players in that area.

But, beeing the best players in Slovakia wasn't enough. They are two solid complete hockeyplayers, but all over the board they just isn't quite good enough.

I think its safe to say that both never will play in the NHL. All our guys in HFD are pretty solid NHL prospects, it could even be tough for Z and Skokan to establish themself at that level.

So I think the intentions where good with thoose picks. It was possible that the rest of the scouts missed something with thoose two guys, it is de facto very hard to cross scout players. Like its one thing to see that Z and Skokan are the best Slovaks, its another to compare one player in Slovakia with a player in Sweden or the USA for example. And in order to find steals that late in the draft you need to gamble, you need to find something that everyone else is missing.

But this time it didn't work out.
