Sbisa is an 18 year-old kid, but to say he has higher potential than a guy who's already had NHL success and so far has been playing like a legit No.3 for us is pushing it. Lots of things could still go wrong.
No, Parent will never be an offensive defenseman. I don't think that means his ceiling isn't as high as Matt Carle. Many feel Parent could be a shutdown D-man, and given Sbisa's offensive upside, that would be perfect. Carle had one good offensive year, and all of his points came on the powerplay. Our powerplay is already very good, and it's no thanks to Carle.
