Detroit lineup update:

Darren Helm recalled, Darren McCarty sent down.

The reason this was done is to try to get a boost of energy in Detroit's lineup tonight since it's their first game back from the Western Canadian trip.

For those who don't know, Helm is one of our prized prospects - as prized as a projected 3rd line center can be. He's got elite wheels, which you'll quickly notice tonight, and he hits, backchecks, and forechecks well. He's just one of those kids that you more times than not notice when he's on the ice. He also earned himself a Stanley Cup ring last year, as he was a regular in our lineup in the postseason(after barely playing in the regular season). He's an NHL-ready player, but with Detroit's overall depth up front, it's more valuable for him to play a ton of minutes in the AHL than to play limited minutes in Detroit(when the roster is healthy).

This means two main things for tonight's game:

1) Detroit becomes a lot faster
2) The chances of a fight tonight just dropped dramatically

Alrighty, so here's the final lineup:

Conklin (gets the start)
