The PP used to feed off the passing in the past. Shooting on the PP doesn't help if it's a low percentage shot (especially low percentage to even make it to the net). PP is about puck posession, if they shoot a lot, they won't have many chances to shoot.
The key really is just getting shots from the point doesn't have to be a howitzer. Rebounds generate chances.
And if one day Carbonneau parks Latendresse in front of the net, shots will get through or will get whacked home.
Kovalev needs to shoot more on the PP, except from those ridiculous angles that he seems to love.
