I don't think he's a 'decent' physical player, I think he's one of the best defensive d-men's available.
The only problem is, I'm not a fan of giving defensive players huge contracts. If he signs 5 year 20 mil deal, I wouldn't complain, anything higher per year and I don't really like it. It's pushing it, even though he can get more than 4 mil a year in the open market.
I never said he was a "decent" physical player, I said he was a decent player who is physical (the comma makes all the difference
Anyways I agree with everything you've said, but I still don't think he's a "must sign at all costs" type of player. We might not be able to replace what he brings, but we can change our game around so that we can still win without it.
