Wellwood, in 26 games, has more goals than Morrison did last year in 39 games, while spending a lot more time with 4th liners than Morrison did.
.86*62 = 53
.67*82 = 55
Now, I'd take the higher PPG player each time because someone else is playing his spot when he's out, but I'd say purely offensively it's actually quite close.

And since you used the PPG in the first example:

Morrison last year = .64ppg
Wellwood so far this year = .61ppg.

Again, my point isn't to have some detailed comparison, but just point out we're not in that much different a spot (Forsberg v Sundin).

The Canucks are scoring more because they are playing a more offensive system. Isn't that obvious?
