so, just read this whole thread...wow. Sorry Murph, but if that's what you call journalism...ragging on a coach who said barely anything after the most ridiculously one sided officiating, like I mean, unheard of...guess you don't like hockey, don't watch it or have extremely low levels of emotion. ALLLLL of us (Habs fans) would have been going ******* (well...i mean I WAS, at home watching) at that display. And calling it whining makes it sound like he's a spoiled sport, not an accurate portrayal. The look of disbelief, that's whining? Asking for an explanation, that's whining? How do you know he wasn't asking why there was no consistency (which he should have been doing)? You just see him how you want to see him. I was hoping he would ask to have the game reviewed by the league and have those refs go back to training. Personally, around the league, just to let you "journalists" know, he's one of the most respected people in the game, like Gainey (obviously for their previous exploits and as you pointed out he was a finalist last year for he Jack Adams). Whether he complains about calls or not, (the refs who have to deal with him might not like being yelled at), he's given a lot more credit than you give him.
also, from whatever brief snipets of Coyotes games I see, I have NEVER seen 99 NOT going completely nuts with the most gut wrenching sneer on his face. I think Carbo reacts just the way he should. And it doesn't hurt the team, cuz what you are proposing is that refs who don't like a coach's complaining will purposely turn a blind eye to the other team. It either works the other way (see Lindy Ruff...who is a great coach IMO) or has no impact at all. Those refs shouldn't be in the league and maybe you should write an article about THAT. It's like writing a piece about how a guy gets shot and all he did was cry and wail about it, and he should stop otherwise he'll get shot again. Or see: Cindy Sheehan, her and her whining ways.
