Bourdon was the "safer" pick at that point in the draft. Same as Hodgson.
Kopitar, like Beach, was seen as the riskier option.
We just got lucky that the safe pick turned out to be tons better this time around.

Kopitar and Beach should never be compared...one has talent and the other, like I predicted, will be the next Shawn Antoski.
