The thing about the Ribeiro line is when it was Ott-Ribeiro-Brunnstrom, it was actually really effective. Ott was a surprisingly good passer to help set up Brunnstrom's goal against the Leafs (yes, it was the Leafs, I know), and he's the digger, the backchecker and the attention-drawer. A very, very poor man's Morrow (and very much like a young Morrow, circla 00/01).
But with Brunnstrom out, it takes away the scorer off the line and makes it much more pedestrian. I hope he's not out long. He's really turned the corner the past 10 or so games as far as becoming a solid all around player.
I didn't get why Ott was out there on the PP, though I guess he was as good a front-of-the-net presence as anyone was tonight.
