Whether or not individually the 8th, 7th, 6th, 5th, 4th, 3rd and 2nd seeds are lower is immaterial. Collectively they odds are better that any one of those seeds will make it than the odds of the #1 seed. Again, look at the history here. 1 out of 4 #1 seeds have made the finals in the last few years. That means 3 out of 4 #1 seeds haven't. Yes, it's better to be the 1 seed than the 8 seed, but I stand by my statement.

I would not at all be surprised to see 1 or both of these teams not in the finals.
