The main reason not to do this deal, is that we would still be a long way from cup contenders, and we would also be hurting our draft position for the next few years. We have too many unknown variables with our prospects/ players right now to make a trade like this. If we jump a season ahead or two, and see what we actually have in these prospects, then maybe a trade like this would make sense. I like Thornton, though I think he is a little soft for a player his size, but this would not be the time for a trade of this magnitude. We would be reversing alot of the things we just recently accomplished. I want us to win, but do it the right way, and have several years of good hockey at the Garden. Something that has been lacking far too long already. We have paid dearly for the 94 cup. It's time to try and create a strong system , and build from the bottom up, instead of trying to build the penthouse first, like we always did!!!!!!
