yea... same thing with the Canucks too... with Naslund and Bert, it wouldn't make sense to add another top calibre player making that much money on a payroll like our's... make more sense for us to invest that kind of payroll in goaltending.

I think a lot of the teams here couldn't afford Thornton as much as they'd like... could Calgary afford that kind of salary and still keep Iginla?? 2 $7mill+ contracts on a small market team doesn't add up.

if Thornton gets moved, he'll be a cornerstone player for a team, where he's the highest paid player there and things get built around him (like Iginla is in Calgary)... or he'll go to a big market team that can afford to have more than 1 or 2 players making $7+mill.
