Hate is a strong word. I like Tim, I like Claude. I even like Zdeno too. I hate losing to Boston.. So when these guys play for Boston, I don't cheer for them. When they play for the team I root for, I can like them just as much as I liked any Hab who deserved being liked. Thomas is a classy guy. So is Julien. No reason to hate them because they play for a team you want to lose...
The guy who broke into my car and stoll my radio, him I hate!

Chara got a pretty nice ovation when he broke Iafrate's record. But next time we face the Bruins, he'll be booed all the same, and I'll boo my little heart out.
I think the vast majority of fans make the distinction of the human and the member of the bruins.
It's a bit like in wrestling. You're going to boo the heel, but you know he's not really like that in real life.
Bruins and Leafs are top heels to Habs fan. And that's how it should be.
