Blake has a cap hit of 4mil for the next 3 years (his actually salary drops to 3 mil in the last 2 years) while Redden is dues 6.5 (cap hit) for the next 4 years.
So in essence we are taking on a salary dump, sending some money their way as well. So they add the 2nd in make it beneficial for us.
Can't see it happening though as Redden makes too much money for too long and I thought I heard that Burke will take on salary but for this year only. (I could be mistaken)
Are you serious? Blake's contract is ten times better then Redden's. The bigger difference is that Blake is useful. They send us a second to balance it out. Man wake up. They would be sending multiple firsts to even consider this. His contract kills the Rangers for a long time to come. Let them keep him. Not to mention I'd keep White over Dawes. You essentially have us trading the better pieces all to get a 2nd round pick.
