To me that is a very marginal difference between the two players point wise. For a difference that small the Flames have to give up a key offensive dman as well, which makes no sense as well.

This is funny math, to say the least. Expecting to be able to interpret a "points-per-minute" stat is absurd. For one thing, you can't assume that minutes are the same for a number one center facing intense checking, and a 2nd/3rd line guy. But, either way, its a silly number that does not lend itself to interpretation.

I'm also not sure why we are basing this entire comparison on career seasons. Marleau has accomplished much more over the course of his career, and he is still the younger player.
