If you like the overall profile of your blade but only want to change the pitch, I would go for the heel lift rather than the profiling. That way when the time comes to change the worn blade, you can just pop a stock blade in the holder and don't have to get it profiled all over again. I'm not saying it's the right way, it's just what I would do. You might even prefer the additional clearance between the boot and the ice on sharp turns. On a related note, ever notice the shims Koivu uses to raise the overall height of his boots on his holders?
EDIT: BTW, the heel lift I'm referring to is the shim between the boot and the holder.
