I don't know if that's real fair to say. If A-Rod's not MVP, and this goes for all sports, then the league MVP can only be a player on a team that's in contention. That's unfair to a lot of players in the league. The MVP should be defined as the player that makes the most difference, and that difference could be on a losing squad (a positive difference that is).

And any sport, do not extrapolate with so little history. The margin of error is huge as any one game can total throw off the extrapolation. Too early to project based on what is done.
