Serie A

1. Alberto Gilardino, 7/5/1982

An amazing striker, he scored 23 goals last year, second only to Andriv Shevchenko. He is the brightest Italian youngster in quite some time. Able to operate on his own, he possesses the heading powers of Vieri and the goal poaching abilities of Inzaghi. ( Incidentally, he looks like the clone of Inzaghi and Vieri fused together) Was not taken to EC2004, so goes and scores 5 goals in the u21 EC, and leads Italy to the championship. Currently has 4 goals in the olympics.(as of this post) Will be absolute star at 2006 WC guaranteed.

2. Antonio Cassano, 7/12/1982

Nicknamed the "madman". Why? Because he is. Absolutely crazy bat shiat crazy. But in a good way. His skills as a forward are unmatched. He has amazing pace as well as vision befitting a no. 10. Scored 14 goals last year and has finally pushed out the two other useless strikers at Roma. ( Montella and DelVecchio ) Will only continue to improve and score more. He was among the few decent players for Italy in Euro 2004.

3. Daniele de Rossi, 7/24/1984

An excellent midfielder from the Roma organization, a born and bred Roma from birth. He is already pushing for a spot in the starting 11. Called by former boss Capello as the "future of Roma" He possesses amazing maturity and vision for a person so young. He is in the mode of Totti, and could become an excellent addition to the Italian national team midfield. Steady and confident, he is also an excellent defender and tackles with abandon.

4. Riccardo Montolivo, 01/18/1985

Having helped Atalanta back into Serie A, Montolivo will continue to improve this year. He scored 4 times last year and is still only 19. He possesses great quickness and helped Italy capture the u19 in 2003.

5. Alberto Aquilani, 07/07/1984

Already a player on the Olympic squad, Aquilani is a rising star in Italy. Another Roma primavera product, he has obviously learned the skills of the playmaker Totti. He scored 4 goals while on loan to Triestina in Serie B.

I will have 5 more soon, but it's getting late here. Cheers.
